IMPORTANT CHANGES TO SCHOOL HEALTH ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS ⚠️

Families of rising seniors for the 2022-2023 school year are responsible for providing written proof from a healthcare provider that documents their child's age-appropriate immunizations(s) (VDH School Requirements: Immunization). Immunization forms/documents MUST be signed by a physician or nurse.

Effective July 1, 2021, the Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) Vaccine is required for all students entering the 12th grade. You must provide the proper documentation prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year for these immunizations.
Phone calls or notes from parents are not acceptable forms of meeting this requirement.
The deadline for submitting immunization records is July 15, 2022

If your child is experiencing fever, fatigue, cough, GI symptoms, headaches or body aches, please keep them home and contact the school nurse for further guidance. If your child/ children test positive for COVID, please contact the school nurse.

Please make an appointment with the nurse to bring any necessary supplies or medications to the clinic.

Due to COVID-19 and recommendations from the CDC, inhalers can not be used in the classrooms and nebulizer treatments can not be administered at school. If your child/ children need to use their inhaler they will need to go to the clinic and a spacer should be utilized.

Please stay safe and well!

All children should be fever free for 24 hours (without the use of fever reducing medications) before returning to school.

Students may carry cough drops with them but SHOULD NOT share with other students.

THOROUGH HAND WASHING IS THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST GERMS!!

Please Remember:

  • All students need an Emergency Card on file in order to participate in field trips.
  • If your child/children are going on an overnight field trip, make sure to have the Medication Administration form filled out for any medications they need while on their trip. A form is required for each medication.
  • Please have the appropriate medical forms on file in the clinic if your child/children have medical conditions.
  • All medication forms expire each school year, including the acetaminophen and antihistamine forms.
  • Please register your child/children in CareDox (School Care). This is our electronic charting system that notifies you of treatment provided to your child/children. CareDox is HIPAA & FERPA compliant. If you would like to register, email CareDox at [email protected]

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the clinic and talk with a nurse anytime during the school day.

Stay healthy and happy and remember to wash your hands!
