Katie Wood
Ms. Wood is returning to Bedford County Public Schools, after serving two years as an Assistant Principal with Amherst County Public Schools. She is a graduate of Liberty High School (Class of 2009) and received her first teaching job here at Jefferson Forest High School in 2014. Along with teaching science in the classroom Ms. Wood was the cheer coach from 2015-2020 and was heavily involved in Hype Platoon, YOVASO, and other student programs here at JF. In 2020, she moved to teach for 2 years in the Liberty Zone before moving to Amherst in 2022.
Ms. Wood received a Bachelor's of Science in Biology/Environmental Science from James Madison University. While teaching, she went back and received her Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education from Liberty University. She also earned an endorsement in K-12 Leadership and Supervision. Ms. Wood and her family currently reside in Goode and are very excited to come full circle and be back with the cavalier community!
