Baccalaureate

  • Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 4:00 pm at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1737 Wards Ferry Road, Lynchburg, VA.

  • The baccalaureate service is an optional special graduation event celebrated by the school faith community and open to all JF seniors, their family and friends.  It is an inclusive worship service that celebrates the commonality of faith  of the senior participants. All are welcome to attend this event.

  • This is not a school sponsored event.

  • Wear business casual attire such as a dress, skirt and blouse, dress slacks, jacket and/or tie.

Graduation Practice

  • Thursday, May 20 at 9:00 AM at the JF Football field for “A-Day” students including students attending Bedford Connects, CVCC, SGGSTC and Early Graduates with the last name A-K

  • Friday, May 21 at 9:00 AM at the JF Football field for “B-Day” students including students attending Bedford Connects, CVCC, SGGSTC and Early Graduates with the last name L-Z

  • Participation in graduation practice does NOT ensure that a student will graduate.  All graduation requirements must still be met.   All graduating seniors will report to  their graduation row and faculty line leader at the gate next to the fieldhouse at the JFHS football field.   It is very important for all to attend.  This is a trial run for graduation day.  The JF Administration will make sure that all student information for graduation is included and names are properly pronounced.  At this time, any outstanding balances can be paid.

  • Seniors must wear caps, gowns & appropriate graduation attire including any honor cords.  Honor and High Honor cords will be distributed at this time.  You will receive them from your line leader.

  • Information about parking, including handicap parking and permits, will be given out at practice.  Each student will receive 10 tickets for family and friends to attend at graduation practice.  Each attendee MUST have a ticket or they will not be allowed entrance to the graduation venue.  If you need more than 10 tickets, we suggest that you ask your friends who may not need their allotted tickets.  JF will NOT distribute any additional tickets.

  • All graduating seniors and participants need to be at Williams Stadium no later than 4:00 pm.  Please allow plenty of time to arrive at the location and find a parking space. Seniors will line up in alphabetical order behind their senior faculty representative.

  • Seniors must wear caps, gowns & appropriate graduation attire including any honor cords.

  • The graduation ceremony will also be live streamed by Bedford County through their YouTube Channel.  https://youtu.be/pejq988NBC4

  • During the ceremony, students will ONLY receive the diploma cover.

  • Immediately following the ceremony, students will proceed in line in alphabetical order and receive their diploma from the counselors. Parents are NOT allowed in this area.
