Technology Use @ JFHS

Teachers Receive New Technology For Their Students:

Two big things happened in the life of JF technology lately: Mr. Francis offered two $1,500 technology grants and Pacific Life donated money for three SMARTboards.

The JF technology grants went to Wendy Singleton and Bill Wheeler.

Wendy Singleton's grant provides the English department with a Student Response System or "clickers." This system allows teachers to assess students with the use of different questioning techniques as well as provide instant feedback on student needs (as a group and individually).

Bill Wheeler asked for and received 6 iPod Touches. He has used the iPads in his classroom several times and wanted to be able to provide these tools for his students to use all the time. Now he can, and, with the new electronic device policy, students can supplement with their own devices.

Three of our teachers were awarded SmartBoards from The Pacific Life Grant:

Jennifer Beeker, Scott Behm, and Brandi Clark are excited to add this interactive tool in their classroom.

We are all excited to see more and more technology in the classrooms, especially when it will be used by students.
