In 2002, long-time JFHS Physics and Chemistry teacher, Dr. JC Murphy passed away. It was his wish that a scholarship fund be established in his name to benefit a JF graduating senior who plans to major in a physical science. The 2013 award will be $500.00.

The applicant must be a graduating senior from JF planning to attend an accredited college or university and majoring in physical science (physics, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, etc...).

The application can be picked up from Diana Branch (room 4010S). The completed application is due to Diana Branch by Friday, May 17, 2013.

Junior Girls - Earn a scholarship by participating in Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program - Applications are available in the JF Counseling Office.

Orientation is May 11. Act TODAY & pick-up an application.

Khan Academy -- http://www.khanacademy.org/ -- is a very useful site. There you can find short (15 minutes or so) video presentations on just about any topic covered in most subjects offered from elementary school through AP courses. I checked out a few math videos and found them very easy to follow. If a student is absent or just needs help with, for example, “conic sections: hyperbolas,” this is a great resource.
