Here is some information about myself:

This will be my fourth year teaching at Jefferson Forest High School! This is a fantastic school filled with awesome people like you!  I love teaching high school students and am thankful for the opportunity to be teaching Algebra II and AP Statistics here at Jefferson Forest High School. Let's work together to make this a great year!

Years ago before the internet, Google, and cell phones,
I grew up in Houston, Texas.  At that time it had over four million people in it and it was thriving with many major oil companies and their money.  That era of time was when technology growth (the birth of computers) was happening fast and this paved the way for things like the F-16 fighter jet and the Space Shuttle.
We lived just miles from NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) so I grew up with a love for math, science, airplanes, and rockets. With those interest sets I chose to study aerospace engineering at Texas A&M.
My direction in life changed and I went to Bible College where I earned a bachelor's degree in pastoral theology and missions. My family and I served ten years in Taiwan ROC doing church planting mission work. We can speak Mandarin Chinese. I have also pastored several smaller churches in the states of Texas, Washington State, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Our family's many journeys have taken us to Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Canada, Mexico, and China. The picture above is of myself on The Great Wall of China.
      I
am married to my best friend and the love of my life (she is from Oregon) and we have four wonderful children that are all grown now.
About twelve years ago while I was pastoring I thought how much I would like to help students in school. So I went back to college to get some more degrees so that I could teach mathematics on the high school level. I have a dual bachelor's degree in mathematics and business administration from Southern Oregon University and a master's degree from Western Oregon University. So although I had been teaching for over thirty years, now I had a license. I also help students with goals toward college, career, and life after high school in a program called Aspire.
There will be many exciting things coming our way during this school year. In addition to getting to learn with all of you, I am excited that in May of 2021 my wife will be finishing medical school at Liberty University's College of Osteopathic Medicine and will become a doctor.
